The Team

"It has always been my belief that a man should do his best, regardless of how much he receives for his services, or the number of people he may be serving or the class of the people served." - Napoleon Hill

Our members come from many different backgrounds, but they all bring a strong commitment to our mission and the community.

Handlers and canines are required to maintain a high level of training.  Canines are tested to insure a friendly and stable temperament as well as the ability to search.

K-9 SAR TX currently has handlers and canines training in air scenting, light disaster, tracking/trailing and cadaver search.  Air scent dogs search for any human scent in a given area.  These dogs usually work off lead and can cover a large area quickly.  Tracking/trailing dogs search, using a scent article, for a specific individual by following the path of that person.  Cadaver dogs are used to locate human remains.
